Police in Fort Worth, Texas have arrested 13 men for allegedly participating in an ATM theft ring that targeted at least 70 ATMs in the area. Authorities made this arrest after analyzing surveillance footage of a 7-Eleven ATM theft, according to a report by NBCDFW.
In most cases, thieves would break in through a store’s window and use a chain on a tow truck to remove the ATM from the store. Authorities used license plate reading cameras to track the various stolen cars used in the thefts.
Fort Worth PD detective Brian Raynsford said many local police departments had to, “pool our resources, pool our ingenuity and our investigative techniques and able to get these people. Because they were organized, and we had to be organized too.”
