On the night Orange County Superior Court Judge Jeffrey Ferguson fatally shot his wife, the couple argued about money during dinner at a restaurant and then continued fighting at home, according to the couple’s son, who recounted the events leading up to his mother’s death during testimony Thursday at his father’s trial.
Phillip Ferguson, then 22, was the only person with his parents on Aug. 3, 2023, when Judge Ferguson allegedly pulled a .40 Glock pistol from his ankle holster and shot his wife, Sheryl, in the chest, killing the 65-year-old woman. Phillip then called police to the couple’s Anaheim Hills home.
