About the Client Counselling Competition
TIPS is proud to announce the Client Counselling Competition, aimed at fostering practical legal skills and ethical client handling among law students. This prestigious event provides a platform for aspiring legal professionals to simulate real-world client interactions and develop expertise in counseling, problem-solving, and professional ethics.
The Client Counselling Competition is designed to assess participants’ ability to provide effective legal counsel to a client within a simulated, real-world setting. The competition’s primary focus is on demonstrating core legal practice skills such as communication, empathy, legal analysis, and the ability to offer clear, practical solutions.
Participants will role-play as legal advisors tasked with managing a client’s legal problem, showcasing both their legal expertise and their interpersonal skills in a professional and supportive manner. The competition will feature a simulated client consultation, where each participant is given a brief containing essential information about the client’s background and the legal issue they are facing.
The client’s concerns may span a variety of legal topics, such as family law, employment law, criminal law, or civil disputes. The scenario will present a mix of legal, emotional, and ethical complexities that participants will need to navigate with care.
Theme of the Competition
The Client Counselling Competition shall revolve around the problems relating to:
As there will be 4 separate rounds in the course of the competition, the problems attributed to the participants in each successive rounds will be different, revolving around the themes stated.
Eligibility
Each participant must be a current undergraduate law student (5-year or 3-year course) from their respective institution.
Registration Fee
- Rs. 1199/- (Early Bird Discount) [Valid till 14th Feb] and,
- Rs. 1500/- afterwards till the form closes, i.e., 25th February, 2025.
Prizes
- Participation Certificate: Given to all participants.
- Merit Certificates & Trophies: Awarded to winners along with attractive cash prizes.
- Winner: Rs. 11,000
- 1st Runner-up: Rs. 7,000
- 2nd Runner-up: Rs. 3,500
