The U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania has stepped down, clearing the way for an appointee of President Donald Trump to take over the role as chief federal prosecutor for the district spanning from Delaware to Northampton counties.
According to an announcement from the office issued late Monday, Jacqueline Romero concluded her tenure as U.S. attorney effective immediately.
