Vanessa Roberts Avery, former U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut, has returned to McCarter & English as a partner in the firm’s business litigation, government investigations and white collar defense teams in Hartford.
Avery resigned from her U.S. attorney position on Jan. 17, calling her service “the honor of a lifetime.” She began work at McCarter & English’s Hartford office on Feb. 3. In an interview Tuesday, she said she looks forward to maintaining strong ties to the community at the same firm where she worked as an associate from 2006 to 2014.
