A Seattle federal judge on Thursday issued a nationwide preliminary injunction blocking President Trump’s executive order against birthright citizenship, effectively extending a restraining order the jurist put in place last month.
In a scathing rebuke of Justice Department arguments, Senior U.S. District Judge John Coughenour called birthright citizenship “a fundamental constitutional right.”
