Federal Trade Commission Chair Andrew Ferguson has prohibited the FTC’s non-Senate-confirmed political appointees from participating in the American Bar Association in response to an ABA statement warning of Trump administration attacks on the rule of law.
Under the policy outlined Friday in a letter to FTC staff, Ferguson barred the appointees from serving in ABA leadership, participating in ABA events or renewing association membership. Ferguson also banned FTC funds from going toward ABA events or staff membership dues.
