Video Making Competition by Vidhi Utsav, OakBridge Publishing

Vidhi Utsav is an initiative of OakBridge Publishing comprising a group of people who are passionate about law, literature, knowledge and advancing the rule of law.

Details About the Event

Vidhi Utsav – The Festival of Law and Legal Literature is happening on 21-22 February, 2025 at Constitution Club of India, New Delhi.

Themes

Participants are invited to create a short video that delves into one of the following sub-themes:

• Judicial Activism in India: Examining how the judiciary has used its powers to uphold the rule of law in landmark cases and whether judicial activism serves or strains the legal balance.
• Free Speech in the Digital Age: Challenges in India: Exploring the intersection of free speech, social media, and rule of law, particularly regarding cases of online censorship and misinformation.
• Role of Law & Justice in Improving Accessibility of Justice: Highlight efforts to make legal procedures less intimidating and more understandable for the common person.
• Consumer Law Issues: Educate viewers about fundamental consumer rights like the right to safety, information, choice, and redressal.Highlight common misconceptions and how to be an informed buyer.
• Role of AI in Law: Illustrate how innovations like AI, blockchain, and legal tech are improving justice delivery.
• Justice in Couplets: Shayari mein Kanoon ki Kahani

Competition Criteria

• Entries must be original video content, created by the participant(s), and should not infringe upon any third-party rights.
• Videos can be of any genre, including but not limited to documentary, animation, narrative, or experimental, as long as they adhere to the theme.
• The video must be in MP4 format, with a maximum length of 2-3 minutes.
• Participants are responsible for ensuring that all content complies with relevant laws and regulations.

Eligibility

The Competition is open to all law students pursuing LLM or LLB. (3-Year or 5-Year course).

Location

Submissions of the videos shall be done online. The winners of the competition will be announced on 22 February 2025 at Vidhi Utsav, Constitution Club of India, New Delhi. Participants will bear their own travel expenses to the venue.

Registration Procedure

• Participants shall register themselves for the competition by submitting the form mentioned at the end of this post.
• Multiple entries from the same college/university are allowed. The participation will be allowed on a first come-first serve basis.

Fee Details

Participation is free to the competition.

Prizes

• Winner: The Individual/Team shall be awarded a prize of INR 25,000/- (Indian Rupees Twenty-Five Thousand Only).
• First Runners up: The Individual/Team shall be awarded a prize of INR 15,000/ – (Indian Rupees Fifteen Thousand Only).
• Second Runners up: The Individual/Team shall be awarded a prize of INR 10,000/ – (Indian Rupees Ten Thousand Only).
