United States ‘will always be reliable partner’: US defence chief

The United States will “always be a reliable partner” in NATO, US defence chief Lloyd Austin said Thursday, after remarks by President-elect Donald Trump sparked concerns among members of the military alliance.

“The United States of America has always been a reliable partner. We will always be a reliable partner in the future,” Austin told journalists at the US Ramstein airbase in Germany. “Our values don’t change. Our commitment to allies and partners doesn’t change either.”
